Hello Everyone!

I'm posting some really excited news today! I've teamed up with Etsy on a project to construct my own collection of mens gifts from their independent sellers in line with their Etsy made local events that starts on Friday, which can be seen at the event and found here.

Being a site that focuses on small sellers all around the world, it's a great place to find some amazing sellers and items (the handmade posters on my list are a personal favourite), so it's extra exciting to give you guys the opportunity to win a £250 gift voucher from them. To enter, simply comment below on what you would spend it on and I'll pick what I think is the best answer, simple as that!

Good luck, and have a great day!

Joe

  1. I would spend some of the voucher on my loving friends and family's Christmas treats and secondly a little on decorating my new flat, and starting the new year with a new 2016 weekly planner. :)

  2. I love Etsy and its originality. I would certainly get one or two of those music prints to keep company to my Arctic Monkeys ones (Joy Division and The Smiths, what a pair!) and look for some stocking fillers for my family :)
    Love your blog!

  3. Me and my fella bought our first flat in February and I've added SO many homeware bits and pieces to my Etsy favourites! I've treated us to a print or two but I'd love to go to town - maybe with a custom design! I also love the stamped spoons from Milk and Honey, they're so cute.

  4. It would make my Christmas Day in work to win, I'd be able to treat my fellow nurses to a treat and treat my family and friends with amazing gifts. LOVE Etsy

  5. I would probably first spend hours going through the shops to find the gemmest of gems and then spend the voucher on all kinds of cool (and impractical) interiour items. I'm moving to a dorm in February, so I'm going to need all the nice things I can get to make the sterile halls a bit more lively and personal.
OR I would just go and splurge it all on nice lingerie, which Etsy is so full of, but I've never really been able to buy myself.

  6. I think it would be soooooo hard deciding what to spend the prize on if I won it - but I'm totally in love with the big knitted blankets I've been seeing lately, and they'd keep me both warm AND stylish all winter!

  7. Well, since I can't spend it on cake (#1 prority in my budget), I could get some cute baking supplies... Obsessed, me?

  9. Such an exciting post!! I feel like I'm constantly browsing Etsy (ultimate and best procrastination) and as a student with a pretty limited budget I would love to win the voucher and be able to treat my boyfriend to something really thoughtful for our first anniversary. I love supporting smaller businesses and I think getting him something really special whilst knowing it's helping someone to grow their shop would be the perfect bonus! Also my entire favourites basket is currently saved with cute cards (I'm a sucker for stationery) so those would also definitely be on the purchase list!

  10. I would spend some of it on Christmas presents, probably snuggly knitwear & art work for the family, also I am working on a amazing patch jacket at the moment so it would help me purchase some extra patches for that, there are so many amazing ones on Etsy! xx

  11. I'd spend the voucher on making my Uni room feel that little bit more homely! Love this post :)

  12. I'd definitely buy a print for my boyfriend for Xmas, perhaps the London one in your picture as he loves visiting London! :)

  13. I would choose an art piece for my dinning room that leads into the kitchen. It is where we entertain guests as it includes the people in the kitchen but an art piece by someone off etsy can be a real conversation starter but also bring character to a room

  14. The minimalist Alex Turner haircut prints have been on my wish list for a while (pretty sure I saw Liv mention them a while back) so I'd get a couple of them, along with some cat shaped ceramic dishes, because...well...CATS!

  15. There's just a couple of weeks until I have a scan to see my baby for the first time! For a first time mum, this is the best Christmas present ever. I work in the art world too, and want to create an imaginative cosy space for my son or daughter, adding things like a teepee https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/259132887/teepee-set-teepee-with-5-poles-plywood?ref=shop_home_active_12 (to hide in with the dog, read stories, and pretend to be in a magical kingdom. There's a million amazing pieces of furniture and goodies for a child's room on etsy (ooh lovely bunnies https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/170368658/white-nursery-mobile-baby-crib-mobile) and a £250 voucher would be a super treat for us all!

  16. Sadly Etsy don't sell cats otherwise that would've been at the very top of my list. Luckily Etsy sell absolutely everything aside from real cats so the first thing I would buy would be this 'because cats' mug https://www.etsy.com/se-en/listing/258833981/because-cats-mugclassic-coffee-mug-latte?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=because%20cats&ref=sr_gallery_7
Then because christmas is all about giving and there's nothing lovelier than seeing people's smiley faces when they're given something wonderful, I'd spend the rest of the money on treats for other people including my best friend who's getting married soon - I'd put a package together for her and her fiance of lovely wedding bits and inspiration for their big day.

Thanks so much for putting together such a wonderful competition!

  17. I'd spend it on some things to decorate my Dads office. It's a really plain, cluttered space at the moment, so being able to add some character would really be great. I'd definitely go for a minimalist style - all the clutter at the moment makes it very hard to concentrate so making it the opposite would mean no distractions!

  18. I recently quit my job and life in London to travel and work as a freelancer as I go (which you can read about on my new blog www.annie-bishop.com if you're interested!!), which although incredibly exciting, means that I'll be spending my first Christmas in 25 years away from home, my friends and family. It also means that I have to save every singly penny I make to keep me fed and watered while I'm gone, with no regular income! If I won this voucher, I'd spend it all on really unique gifts to send home to my family and friends, to let them know I'm still thinking of them, even though there is literally an ocean between us.

  19. I'd look to invest some of the money on the amazing screen printed gig posters that are available on Etsy. Buying artist's music posters is a great way of collecting affordable art, and these days owning hand printed physical ephemera from an industry which is now almost entirely digital/ online-based feels more and more special! Some of my favourite artists on Etsy are James Flames, who has managed to create a whole world of characters across his gig posters, and Graham Pilling and Luke Drozd. Buying and collecting screenprints is also a good way of discovering new music, as the best art doesn't always correspond to bands you've heard of or listened to! As I also want to get in to screenprinting my own work, it is a great way to appreciate the method and care that goes in to each print, and to admire the artist's work with colour trappings, overlays, layers etc (won't bore you!)

  20. I've been unemployed since moving to London, so I would spend the £250 on a kick-ass gift for my husband who has been supporting me emotionally and financially during this transition! Christmas is probably going to be fairly skint, so this would really help me give him a gift worthy of his generosity

  21. I love etsy and discovering artists around the world to buy interesting things from. Feels amazing to be supporting small businesses whilst buying something original that I just fall in love with. I'd spend the gift vouchers on interesting gifts for family this Christmas and maybe some colourful cushions for home. I loved the etsy shop today in London, do great to meet some artists in person. You guys all do such a great job! Keep making and we'll keep buying :) xx

  22. Lovely shots. I love how many brilliant independent small businesses are on etsy. When searching for blog layout and logo ideas, etsy is a great place to start. Since re-branding, I've been meaning to get some blog business cards sorted, so I'd definitely use the voucher to have some designed and printed by an independent designer. It's great for keeping things original and supporting other creatives. Loriley x www.gfsesh.com

  23. I love etsy probably as much as my wife does. If i won the gift voucher i would most definitely spend it on some new decor for the home. Our walls are pretty plain right now sense me an my wife just moved into our first home. It would be amazing if once a year etsy artists met up to show their work in person to potential buyers.

  24. I am a huge fan of Etsy and I love when they do things like this. I like the small seller feel and any way to showcase them is fantastic in my book. I'm a fan all the pieces in your photos. I am really digging the cassette tape one. I would totally hang that in my house!
